About CalAdvRider.com

Stephen on the White Rim TrailThis site has been solely developed by Stephen Fischer.  The original content found here was previously developed as an offshoot from his photography site (stephenfischerphotography.com) referred to as the motorcycle corner. But over time as the motorcycle related content has grown, the author decided to dedicate a specific site for adventure and dual sport bike information and interests.

Author's background

Retired computer engineer with over 30 years of experience, with most of it at the Intel Corporation.  Primary responsibilities and accomplishments around microprocessor architecture, microcode, virtualization and security technologies (LinkedIn profile here). He decided to retire to dedicate his time to more of his personal interests and projects; partially motivated after witnessing a continuing deemphasis and dismantling of microprocessor development by corporate decision makers that seem to have forgotten (or never knew) what made Intel so successful in the past.

Travel Guide to California PhotographyStephen is also an accomplished landscape and wildlife photographer, having exhibited his work in multiple venues, including an exhibit most recently on the endangered oak savannahs of the Sacramento foothills as shown at the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center, March of 2018. Being a native of California, and with his photography travel experience of the state, in 2016 Stephen published a guide book for photographers on the best places to photograph in California : Travel Guide to California Photography.  It covers over 250 locations in 365 pages, including maps, GPS coordinates, composition tips, and recommendations of the best time and season.  You can get more information on this book and how to order it here.
